Time is the greatest illusion that controls our perception of the world we live in, we tend to measure progress and inputs based sometimes solely on time. For instance, we compare ourselves with our peers, in terms of financial stability, and career success. And when there is nothing to compare ourselves with, so on and say that at this age, we are meant to have achieved this and that, which may have a positive impact on our productivity, but sometimes, it may be negative and toxic on the long haul. I am not saying competition is bad, what am saying it, competition within a confined and controlled environment can be great. But in the race of life, competition may be dangerous, especially when it comes to the state of one's own life, When it comes to the affairs of life and the general well-being of a person, a lot of things come into play. The environment, parents, education and several other factors influence a person’s decision making and inform them of what is important. Environment plays a crucial role in our lives, and we need to understand that regardless of our environment, we are all going to get to a place of optimum comfort in life, it may come sooner, or it may come later, but the truth is, it will come. It may be delayed, but it will never get denied. It is crucial we understand this simple concept, and it will help us focus on what we truly have to do while we have the strength of our youth. ### Focus on your Race

Life is an individual race, despite the love and support of family and friends, we are still expected to make our decisions, and be ready to face the consequences of those decisions. Having this in mind, we have to understand, every waking moment we are alive, it's important we focus on a single purpose of making the most of the time we are given. Nothing is as painful as an old bitter person filled with regrets, it is up to us to live the best life we can possibly live. Nobody has all the right answers, you just keep grinding and moving forward. Nothing can stop a man on a mission he believes in wholeheartedly, it is only when there are doubt and a concern, that failure can creep in. But when the heart is set on achieving a given goal, occassionaly failures, are seen as the stepping stone that is prerequisite to reaching the overarching goal.So, when you are laser-focused on your mission and purpose, nothing can stop you in that quest. ### You have What it takes

Self-believe is an important ingredient in doing anything worthwhile when you believe that you are good enough, you tend to see value in your work and your very presence in the life of people around you. Feeling good about yourself, and getting things done within your space, adds to that confidence, and at the end, you find out that you are your biggest competition, because you find yourself constantly trying to improve yourself from where you were yesterday. So, we have to walk around with this confidence and belief in ourselves that we can get things done. If we don’t have faith in ourselves, then who should have faith in us. This way, it doesn’t matter how old you are, you are certain that sooner or later, your breakthrough will arrive. And when it happens, you will be tasked to maintain it. ### Sources
