Informationen über die Art Lacerta viridis (Östliche Smaragdeidechse)

Due to the positive feedback on my first animal intro post about the genus Chionea I decided to try this new "learn & earn" series.

Since I am not really sure if you like the concept, I am very open to all your feedback and may change the concept a little bit in the future or end the series if the community is not really interested. My personal goal is to give you at least a small insight in to the huge biodiversity of this planet and I hope that you learn to appreciate it even more. For the first posts I will start with species (or genus and families) that occur here in Austria, but I might introduce species from other countries later down the road :)

Aufgrund des positiven Feedbacks auf meinen ersten Tier intro Post der Gattung Chionea entschied ich mich diese neue Serie "lerne & verdiene" auszuprobieren.

Da ich mir nicht wirklich sicher bin ob ihr das Konzept mögt, bin ich sehr froh über all euer Feedback und es kann sein, dass ich das Konzept in Zukunft noch etwas ändern werde oder die Serie ganz beende wenn die Community nicht wirklich interessiert ist. Mein persönliches Ziel ist es euch zumindest einen kleinen Einblick in die enorme Biodiversität auf der Erde zu geben und ich hoffe, dass ihr diese dadurch noch mehr zu schätzen lernt. Für die ersten Posts werde ich mit Arten (Gattungen oder Familien) starten die auch hier in Österreich vorkommen, werde aber zu einem späteren Zeitpunkt vielleicht auch Arten von anderen Ländern vorstellen :)

Lacerta viridis (European green lizard)	Lacerta viridis (Östliche Smaragdeidechse)
Is a lizard from southeastern Europe, its distribution ranges from eastern Austria to western turkey.	Ist eine Eidechse aus Südost Europa, ihre Vorkommen reicht von Ost-Österreich bis in die Westtürkei.
Its phylogenetic relation is very closely to the species Lacerta bilineata that probably good isolated during climate changes in the Pleistocene and evolved into a separate species.	Die phylogenetische Verwandtschaft ist sehr Nahe mit der Art Lacerta bilineata die wahrscheinlich während Klimaveränderungen im Pleistozän isoliert wurde und in eine eigene Art evolvierte.
This slender species can reach a total body length of about 40 cm (head to tail tip).	Diese Schlanke Art kann eine Körperlänge von bis zu 40 cm erreichen (Kopf bis Schwanzspitze).
As many other lizard species they can shed their tail as a protection against predation.	Wie viele andere Eidechsen Arten können sie ihren Schwanz abwerfen, als Schutz vor Predation.
Males display especially during mating season a clear blue gorge.	Männchen zeigen vor allem während der Paarungszeit eine deutliche blaue Kehle .
The main food source for this species are insects, other small invertebrates and very rarely fruits, eggs or small vertebrates.	Die wichtigste Futterquelle für diese Art sind Insekten, andere kleine wirbellose Tiere und sehr selten auch Früchte, Eier oder kleine Wirbeltiere.
It can be found in sunny terrains with a low and dense vegetation.	Sie kann in sonnigem Gelände mit einer niedrigen und dichten Vegetation gefunden werden.
