This is a bit of my local non-urban area within the urban space: Whittier Narrows Dam. When it's not flooded, which is most of the time, it's a small overgrown forest with horse and bicycle trails ringing it.

The dam is located where Pico Rivera meets Montebello.

It burned up several years ago in the Lincoln Fire, but it's mostly come back.

Most of these are panoramas. The dam was established for flood control, and the Rio Hondo River does rise, but the dam itself is rarely ever filled.
