Hello friend @cabelindsay and all the Hive Open Mic audience! We've reached week 31 🥰 While I can, I want to present something different every week, so today I wanted to share this video in karaoke format of one of the most interesting songs in Shakira's repertoire.

This week's theme is "As Above So Below", so I thought of the song "Eighth Day," which describes us to God taking a rough break through the sidereal space while down here those left in power play the ejedrez with people. Without going very far, this song, although it was released in 1998, remains very in force, especially in this crazy 2020.

Octavo Día, belongs to Shakira's second international album, titled "Where Are The Thieves?", and although it was not a promotional single it is one of the favorites of its faithful audience, as my person, precisely because of the seriousness of the topic it deals with. Here next to the video I leave the lyrics of the song in English and Spanish so that they can enjoy it.

# Eighth Day

El octavo día, Dios, después de tanto trabajar, para liberar tensiones, luego ya de revisar, dijo: "todo está muy bien, es hora de descansar", y se fue a dar un paseo por el espacio sideral. ¿Quién se iba a imaginar que el mismo Dios al regresar iba a encontrarlo todo en un desorden infernal? y que se iba a convertir en un desempleado más de la tasa que anualmente está creciendo sin parar. Desde ese entonces hay quienes lo han visto solo en las calles transitar, anda esperando paciente por alguien con quien al menos tranquilo pueda conversar. Mientras tanto, este mundo gira y gira sin poderlo detener y aquí abajo unos cuantos nos manejan como fichas de ajedrez. No soy la clase de idiota que se deja convencer, pero digo la verdad, y hasta un ciego lo puede ver. Si a falta de ocupación o de excesiva soledad Dios no resistiera más y se marchara a otro lugar, sería nuestra perdición, no habría otro remedio más que adorar a Michael Jackson, a Bill Clinton o a Tarzán. Es mas difícil ser rey sin corona que una persona más normal, pobre de Dios que no sale en revistas, no es modelo ni artista o de familia real.

¡Hola amigo @cabelindsay y a todo el público de Hive Open Mic! Hemos llegado a la semana 31 🥰 Mientras pueda, quiero presentar algo distinto cada semana, así que hoy quise compartir este video cóver en formato karaoke de una de las canciones más interesantes del repertorio de Shakira.

El tema de esta semana es "As Above So Below", así que pensé en la canción "Octavo Día", la cual nos describe a Dios tomando un rudo descanso por el espacio sideral mientras aquí abajo los que quedan en el poder juagan al ejedrez con las personas. Sin ir muy lejos, esta canción, aunque fue publicada en 1998 sigue siendo muy vigente, sobre todo en este loco 2020.

Octavo Día, pertenece al segundo disco internacional de Shakira, titulado "Dónde Están Los Ladrones?", y aunque no fue un sencillo promocional es una de las favoritas de su público fiel, como mi persona, precisamente por la seriedad del tema que trata. Aquí junto al video les dejo la letra de la canción en inglés y español para que puedan disfrutarla.
