El amor propio es una necesidad de toda persona, necesitamos reconocer en cada uno de nosotros que somos hechas a una imagen y semejanza inigualables, que no somos de un todo seres perfectos, que nos caracterizan un conjunto de virtudes y defectos, pero que tenemos un valor increíblemente especial y ante los ojos del altísimos somos perlas preciosas.

Soy consciente que a veces podemos experimentar esos bajones emocionales, donde nos sentimos desanimados y es allí donde la mente juega un papel crucial y nos dejamos influenciar por la tristeza y la poca estima por nosotros mismos. Me atrevería a confirmar que todos por un momento específico hemos pasado este conjunto de emociones y llegar allí es algo rápido y muy poco complicado, ahora bien, salir es lo que nos cuesta un poco más.

Como docente de aula he sido testigo de muchos casos semejantes y es esto lo que ha despertado en mi la curiosidad de indagar un poco más sobre las razones de estas conductas, en mi búsqueda uno de los factores comunes son las conductas aprendidas, vienen de hogares disfuncionales, donde uno de los padres está ausente o en el peor de los casos ambos, por lo tanto son criadas por parientes cercanos como abuelas y estas a su vez no alimentan su existencia con afirmaciones y por el contrario golpean su autoestima con palabras hirientes como una filosa espada cortante.

Es triste y muy lamentable esta cruda realidad, pero si dejamos de enfocarnos tanto en nuestro quehacer diario y analizas sigilosamente tu alrededor descubrirás que cerca de donde te mueves hay casos similares a ellos, solo que a veces no lo determinamos y no te juzgo porque ahora que he descubierto esta situación problema se me hace mucho más sencillo evidenciarlo.

Ahora bien, ya hice mi diagnóstico, no puedo quedarme con los brazos cruzados es allí donde dejo que mi rol orientador salga a la luz y comienzo a guiar a mis niños o niñas, porque aun cuando trabajo con preadolescentes o adolescentes, ellos para mi siguen siendo niños que están necesitados especialmente de amor y que los colme de palabras bonitas que les ayude a amortiguar esas horrorosas palabras con las que han crecido, es fácil no, pero tampoco imposible.

Siento una satisfacción tan grande cuando veo sus ojitos brillar por sus lágrimas al comprender que son perlas preciosas que deben amarse y valorarse por sus actitudes, talentos, que el dinero es importante si, pero no determina el valor de una persona, por lo tanto deja atrás esos pensamientos negativos de tu vida, los invito a darles un nuevo sentido y color a su existir no solo con palabras, también con hechos contundentes.

Viví muy de cerca un caso de una niña muy dulce, excelente estudiante, buena conducta, vive con ambos padres, una familia hermosa, ustedes se preguntaran ¿pero que sucede entonces si todo es perfecto? Les confieso que me costó determinar las causa, pero lo logre, resulta que la niña entra a cursar el primer año y en la sección donde inicio tuvo un problema de riñas y fue cambiada de sección.

Llega a la siguiente sección establece una amistad toxica con otra niña que decía ser su mejor amiga y la explotaba, le quitaba su merienda, la ponía hacer sus trabajo y de pasa palos la trataba con la punta del pie y ella todo esto se la aguantaba, esto me daba una indignación terrible y por más que le decía que se apartara de esta amistad ella hacia caso omiso, se sentía insegura y poco valorada.

Un día se presentó una situación en mi clase y la niña que siempre había sido agraviada se defendió, todos quedamos sorprendidos y en este momento ella entendió lo que ya le venía diciendo, las verdaderas amigas te suman, no te restan, te quieren y apapachan no te maltratan, te corrigen si vez que vas por un mal camino, pero sobre todo valoran tus buenas acciones.

En ese momento al finalizar la clase ella me abrazo profundamente, lloro y me agradeció el hecho de mostrarle su verdadero valor, esa esencia bonita que siempre la ha caracterizado y sobre todo a entender que por ser una perla preciosa podía ser aceptada y apreciada por todos y no por una sola persona.

Este es el resultado que obtenemos cuando nos excedemos en la sobreprotección de nuestros hijos, es bueno cuidarlos, pero también tenemos que darles herramientas de sobrevivencia, cuando somos mama gallina o papa gallo con nuestros hijos y les solucionamos todo, estamos afectando su carácter, recuerda querido padre que no toda la vida ellos van a estar a nuestro lado, que deben alzar su vuelo solos y el camino por lo general es desconocido.

Construyamos en nuestros niños su amor propio, recordémosle cada día lo valioso que son, que pueden lograr cosas grandes y brillantes en la vida, que deben luchar incansablemente por sus sueños, que el éxito es el resultado de trabajar perseverantemente por lo que quieren y muy especialmente que deben moverse en lugares donde se sientan aceptados y valorados, donde reconozcan lo especial que son, nunca lo olviden.

SELF-LOVE: WE ARE VALUABLE AND PRECIOUS PEARLS NEVER FORGET IT

Self-love is a necessity for every person, we need to recognise in each of us that we are made in our own unique image and likeness, that we are not all perfect beings, that we are characterised by a set of virtues and defects, but that we have an incredibly special value and in the eyes of the Most High we are precious pearls.

I am aware that sometimes we can experience those emotional lows, where we feel discouraged and that is where the mind plays a crucial role and we allow ourselves to be influenced by sadness and low self-esteem. I would venture to confirm that we have all gone through this set of emotions at one time or another and getting there is quick and very uncomplicated, but getting out of it is what takes a little longer.

As a classroom teacher I have witnessed many similar cases and it is this that has awakened in me the curiosity to investigate a little more about the reasons for these behaviours, in my search one of the common factors are learned behaviours, they come from dysfunctional homes, where one parent is absent or in the worst case both, therefore they are raised by close relatives such as grandmothers and these in turn do not feed their existence with affirmations and on the contrary hit their self-esteem with hurtful words like a sharp cutting sword.

It is sad and very regrettable this crude reality, but if we stop focusing so much on our daily chores and stealthily analyse your surroundings you will discover that close to where you move there are cases similar to them, only that sometimes we do not determine it and I do not judge you because now that I have discovered this problem situation it is much easier for me to discover it.

Now that I have made my diagnosis, I can't stay with my arms crossed, that's when I let my role as a counsellor come to light and I begin to guide my children, because even when I work with pre-adolescents or adolescents, for me they are still children who are in need especially of love and that I fill them with beautiful words that help them to cushion those horrendous words with which they have grown up, it is not easy, but not impossible either.

I feel such a great satisfaction when I see their eyes shine with tears when they understand that they are precious pearls that should be loved and valued for their attitudes, talents, that money is important yes, but it does not determine the value of a person, therefore leave behind those negative thoughts of your life, I invite you to give them a new meaning and colour to their existence not only with words, but also with forceful deeds.

I lived very closely a case of a very sweet girl, excellent student, good behaviour, lives with both parents, a beautiful family, you may ask, but what happens then if everything is perfect? I confess that it was difficult to determine the cause, but I managed to do it, it turns out that the girl enters the first year and in the section where she started she had a problem with fights and was moved to another section.

She arrived in the next section and established a toxic friendship with another girl who claimed to be her best friend and exploited her, took away her snack, made her do her work and treated her with the tip of her toe and she put up with all this, this gave me terrible indignation and no matter how much I told her to get away from this friendship she ignored it, she felt insecure and undervalued.

One day a situation arose in my class and the girl who had always been wronged defended herself, we were all surprised and at that moment she understood what I had already been telling her, true friends add to you, they don't subtract from you, they love you and support you, they don't mistreat you, they correct you if you are on the wrong track, but above all they value your good deeds.

At the end of the class she hugged me deeply, she cried and thanked me for showing her true value, that beautiful essence that has always characterised her and above all for understanding that because she was a precious pearl she could be accepted and appreciated by everyone and not just by one person.

This is the result we get when we overprotect our children, it is good to take care of them, but we also have to give them survival tools, when we are mama hen or papa rooster with our children and we solve everything for them, we are affecting their character, remember dear father that they will not be by our side all their lives, they must take flight on their own and the road is usually unknown.

Let's build self-love in our children, let's remind them every day how valuable they are, that they can achieve great and brilliant things in life, that they must fight tirelessly for their dreams, that success is the result of working perseveringly for what they want and very especially that they should move in places where they feel accepted and valued, where they recognize how special they are, never forget it.
