Desde niño me ha gustado la ciencia ficción, a los 11 años me regalaron el libro de **Isaac Asimov's Robot City: Perihelion** y desde entonces es el género que más me gusta leer y ver en cine y televisión. Varios libros y películas después e influenciado por el ambiente literario que había en casa ya me sentía capaz de escribir toda una novela😀, pero empecé por escribir una serie de cuentos cortos donde el de LOS LAPSOS DE TIEMPO es el que más me gustó y recuerdo porque lamentablemente con tantas mudanzas que he hecho en mi vida perdí los mencionados cuentos, pero el otro día vi en la serie de Netflix “Los 100” una referencia parecida y quise escribir sobre lo que recuerdo. Describí LOS LAPSOS DE TIEMPO como una especie de remolino que se creaba de manera espontánea en el cielo y que iba descendiendo rápidamente hasta que se terminaba de formar a nivel del suelo. En su avance todo lo que se atravesase en su camino envejecía entre veinte y cincuenta años, por lo que para una persona verse atrapada por alguno de estos LDT dependiendo de la edad implicaba convertirse en cuestión de segundos si es un niño en un adulto o adulto mayor y si era un adulto en un viejo. El problema era para los adultos mayores que lamentablemente no sobrevivían.

Since I was a child I have liked science fiction, when I was 11 years old I was gifted **Isaac Asimov's book Robot City: Perihelion** and since then it is the genre that I most like to read and watch on film and television. Several books and movies later and influenced by the literary environment at home I felt capable of writing a whole novel😀, but I started writing a series of short stories where the one about THE TIME LAPSES is the one I like the most and I remember because unfortunately with so many moving I have done in my life I lost the mentioned short stories, but the other day I saw in the Netflix series "The 100" a similar reference and I wanted to write about what I remember. I described THE TIME LAPSES as a kind of vortex that was spontaneously created in the sky and rapidly descending until it finished forming at ground level. In its advance everything that crossed its path aged between twenty and fifty years, so for a person to be trapped by one of these TTL, depending on age, meant becoming an adult or a senior citizen in a matter of seconds if they were a child, and an old man if they were an adult. The problem was for older adults who unfortunately didn't survive.

Describí el caso de John quien con 16 años salió de la casa en la que vivía con sus padres y en el camino al liceo vio como se empezaba a formar un temido LDT. A sabiendas de lo que esto implicaba intentó buscar refugio; había escuchado que la cantidad de exposición que recibiera era determinante en la cantidad de años que podía envejecer y aun cuando el objetivo era recibir 0% de exposición si te alcanzaba era recomendable estar rodeado de la mayor cantidad de objetos posibles. Para su “suerte” justo había un galpón recién construido donde estaban por inaugurar una imprenta así que corrió a refugiarse ahí. El galpón estaba lleno de resmas y bobinas de papel por lo que alcanzó a meterse dentro de una de las inmensas bobinas. La llegada del LDT era inminente y solo le quedó esperar a que pasara y desapareciera para que nadie más se viera afectado. Y así fue, John sintió lo que denominó un pequeño soplo y dudó por un momento del efecto devastador en todos los sentidos que tenían los LDT, pero había un olor extraño en el ambiente y cuando salió de la bobina de papel lo que vería a continuación lo dejaría completamente atónito. Las resmas de papel yacían regadas por el piso y lo que hace minutos era un blanco intenso se había convertido en un amarillo ocre, lo mismo le había ocurrido a las bobinas de papel. El escenario se volvió más aterrador al ver lo que le había pasado a las imprentas… ¿Cómo era posible que algo que nunca se había utilizado podría devenir en casi chatarra? Bueno ese era el efecto destructor de los LDT. Sin embargo el verdadero terror estaba por suceder, al ver el estado en el que había quedado parte del galpón se le había olvidado el porqué de la búsqueda de un buen escondite y no fue hasta que se topó con un gran espejo perteneciente a la oficina del director de la imprenta que permite que él pueda ver a los empleados sin que ellos pudieran ver hacia el interior de la oficina, pero ¿De quién era ese reflejo? ¿Quién era la persona que estaba ahí? ¿Qué había pasado con el chico de 16 años que solo quería ir a clases como de costumbre?

And so it did, John felt what he called a small puff and doubted for a moment the devastating effect in every way that TTL had, but there was a strange smell in the air and when he stepped out of the paper reel what he would see next would completely astonish him. Reams of paper lay strewn across the floor and what had been a stark white minutes ago had turned a yellow ochre, the same had happened to the paper reels. The scenario became even more frightening when I saw what had happened to the printing presses... How was it possible that something that had never been used could become almost scrap? Well that was the destructive effect of TTL. However the real terror was about to happen, seeing the state that part of the shed had been left in he had forgotten why he was looking for a good hiding place and it wasn't until he came across a large mirror belonging to the printing press manager's office that allows him to see the employees without them being able to see into the office, but whose reflection was it? Who was the person who was there? What had happened to the 16 year old boy who just wanted to go to class as usual?

El reflejo mostraba a una persona con una pronunciada cabellera, una extensa barba, que se encontraba cubierta de harapos y descalza, pero ¿Qué del rostro en sí? Decir desencajado era poco, aunque no era ni la primera, ni la última víctima de este característico fenómeno la desolación y la impotencia se apoderaron del mismo; no era para menos había pasado de ser un adolescente de 16 años a un adulto de 41 años. Ahora el próximo paso era cómo iba a mostrarse ante la sociedad, su familia y amigos. Sabía que no había tiempo para la etapa de negación y solo le quedaba la resignación de haber “perdido” 25 años de su vida. Lo primero que pensó fue en retornar a su casa, ya que no tenía sentido de momento ir al liceo. Afortunadamente estaba a unas cuantas cuadras de su casa y su apariencia harapienta paso desapercibida… entró a su casa y escuchó que su madre estaba en la cocina, pero ¿Cómo reaccionaría? ¿Qué pensaría de esa persona de apariencia desdeñada que había entrado a su casa? Se acercó hasta la puerta de la cocina y le dijo: - Hola mamá soy yo John por favor no te vayas a asustar Su madre se voltea y aprieta con fuerza el cuchillo que tenía en la mano preguntando: - John ¿eres tú? - Si madre de camino al liceo pasó lo que habíamos tratado de evitar siempre… Su madre todavía con el cuchillo en la mano izquierda se acercó cuidadosamente a él y con la mano derecha apartó de su cara los cabellos y al verle a los ojos dejo caer el cuchillo, lo abrazó y rompió en llanto. Acto seguido le cortó el cabello, lo afeitó y le dio ropa de su padre. Ahora tenían la misma edad y apenas 4 años menos que su papá que al verlo no daba crédito a lo que veían sus ojos pensando que se había encontrado con su clon. .

Ahora tenían que ver qué hacer con el liceo y como llevaría el resto de su vida de ahora en adelante. Al día siguiente padre, madre e hijo se presentaron ante la directora del liceo que al ver a John le dijo que a pesar de lo sucedido le contenta verlo tan bien y que justo así se imaginaba que iba a ser de adulto. Posteriormente los llevó a una oficina que más bien parecía uno de esos estudios de grabación donde no entraba ni salía ningún ruido y les confesó que el Gobierno había creado una organización secreta con las víctimas de los LDT y científicos que estaban buscando la forma de acabar con los LDT. John aceptó formar parte de dicha organización, ya que sabía que por más que sus compañeros lo aceptaban tal cual como era pensó que podría aportar más a la organización y así fue. Pasados 6 meses John se dio cuenta que más que acabar con los LDT se debía sacar provecho de ellos, pero ¿Cómo hacer que algo tan nefasto pudiera ser provechoso para la sociedad? Ideo una forma de encapsular los LDT y utilizarlos en la industria alimenticia ganado un tiempo súper valioso en la elaboración de: • Quesos • Whisky • Rones • Vinos • Macerados de frutas • Frutas deshidratadas La organización pasó a ser una gran trasnacional que se encargó de distribuir a nivel mundial todos los mencionados productos y con lo recabado no solo siguieron ayudando a las víctimas de los LDT sino a todo el que lo necesitase. **LDT= LOS LAPSOS DE TIEMPO**

He invented a way to encapsulate TTL and use them in the food industry, saving valuable time in the production of: - Cheese - Whisky - Rums - Wines - Fruit macerates - Dried fruits The organisation became a large transnational organisation that distributed all the above products worldwide and with the proceeds not only continued to help the victims of the TTL but also anyone else in need. **TTL= THE TIME LAPSES**
