On previous occasions I have said that in Venezuela we have a calypso that is part of our tradition, arising from the migration of people from the Antilles, in colonial times. Although traditionally sung in a mixture of English, French, patoise and Spanish, they have also written many that are exclusively in Spanish.

In the late 80s I wrote this calypso for a children's contest program that was very famous, directed by the great Venezuelan star Simón Diaz. With this song participated the representative of the region from which is this genre, the region of Guyana.

This is my entry for Sonic Groove Live, week 25.

En ocasiones anteriores he contado que en Venezuela tenemos un calypso que es parte de nuestra tradición, surgido de la migración de gente de las Antillas, en tiempos de la colonia. Aunque tradicionalmente se canta en una mezcla de inglés, francés, patoise y español, también han escrito mcuhos que son en español exclusivamente.

A finales de los años 80 yo escribí este calypso para un programa de concursos infantiles que fue muy famoso, dirigido por la gran estrella venezolana Simón Diaz. Con esta canción participó el representante de la región de donde es oriundo este género, la región de Guayana.

Esta es mi participación para Sonic Groove Live, semana 25.

Bei früheren Gelegenheiten habe ich gesagt, dass wir in Venezuela eine Kalypso haben, die Teil unserer Tradition ist und sich aus der Migration von Menschen von den Antillen in der Kolonialzeit ergibt. Obwohl traditionell in einer Mischung aus Englisch, Französisch, Patoise und Spanisch gesungen, haben sie auch viele geschrieben, die ausschließlich auf Spanisch sind.

In den späten 80ern schrieb ich diesen Calypso für ein sehr berühmtes Kinderwettbewerbsprogramm unter der Regie des großen venezolanischen Stars Simón Diaz. Mit diesem Lied nahm der Vertreter der Region, aus der dieses Genre, die Region Guyana, teilnahm.

Dies ist meine Teilnahme für Sonic Groove Live, Woche 25.
