This evening we dediced to treat ourselves a little; tired of eating the tastless food of the University canteen and cheap instant food in front of the TV.
Sometimes University life could be very hard :(
Italy is well known for food and for the different variety of cuisines; indeed each region has its traditional dishes and culinary traditions. Fortunately, here in Italy, you could easily find in every city restaurants from all over the Country, from North to South. And, if you are lucky, you could find real good ones.
Pizza is the most famous Italian dish in the World, actually, but you have to know that it was born in Naples and, from Naples, come from the best pizza chefs. Nowadays, in Italy you can find pizza restaurants everywhere, but only some pizzeria respect the traditional recipe.
Today we went exactly in one of the most delicious pizza restaurant of the city and delighted our stomachs with the real Neapolitan pizza!
After that, even though we were full, we gave ourselves a very big ice cream, because, as everyone knows, you always have room for dessert ;)!!
Furthermore, we didn't want to go home so early; it is a very windy and cold night, but is so rare to see the city so empty and without crowds of tourists!

Stasera abbiamo deciso di viziarci un po', stanche di mangiare sempre il cibo insapore della mensa universitaria e scadente cibo precotto davanti la televisione.
Certe volte la vita universitaria può essere molto dura :(
Come tutti ben sapete, in Italia è facilissimo trovare un ristorante in cui si possa assaggiare i piatti tipici della nostra tradizione; un po' meno facile è trovarne uno che sappia rispettare davvero bene queste tradizioni.
Per noi italiani il cibo è un tasto dolente; infatti, non appena ci si avventura a parlare di questo argomento, scatta il feroce campanilismo che ci contraddistingue. Ognuno ha da dire la sua su qualsiasi ricetta e, anche città che distano poche chilometri l'una dall'altra, si contendono la paternità di un piatto piuttosto che un altro, in una lotta estenuante che va avanti da generazioni.
Abbiamo poche certezze, ma per lo meno quelle poche sono indissolubili, tipo che la vera pizza sia Napoletana.
Infatti stasera, spinte dalla voglia di mangiare qualcosa che non fosse semplicemente commestibile, abbiamo optato per una pizza in una delle migliori pizzerie della città.
Venendo dal nord Italia, non ho tutta questa autorità nel decretare se una pizza rispetti davvero la tradizione napoletana o meno, però, non so se per la fame o per l'alta qualità del cibo, non è rimasto nemmeno il cornicione nel piatto. ;)
All photographs are property of the author (foto dell' autore)La serata doveva finire così, una pizza veloce e poi a casa, ma abbiamo approfittato di questa notte ventosa e fredda, che ha scoraggiato anche i turisti più indomiti, per goderci una passeggiata sul Lungarno, in una Pisa come raramente si vede; senza orde di turisti e stranamente silenziosa. In più, anche se eravamo piene, ci é venuta voglia di gelato e si sa che bello stomaco del dolce, che è a sé stante, c'è sempre spazio. ;)
