I found an old poetry book, Synapse by Ingrid Jonker, and decided to do a drawing of roses over the text of a poem that is themed around a garden.
I used a blue ballpoint pen to draw the outlines and add shading.
More progress.
I added a second rose to the original first one.
Here is the finished drawing.
I then merged the drawing with the original photo using an app on the Google Store called Pixlr. After a few adjustments, the piece was complete.
Note: This was only one of many possibilities. Art is not only to create, but also to make a great many decisions. The text in the background gives for an interesting texture. I am also a poet, so this is a rather personal work for me. 🌹
