Normally I'm working with my pastel pencils. This time around I came back to graphite pencils which I have not used for a long time. This meant I was working from a white surface instead of my usual coloured paper. Doing this means starting my values (lights and darks) from a different point. I feel it is good to shake up your habits every once in a while to keep yourself flexible.
