I just finished to work on the last painting for my comic!!!! I'm really happy and proud of it! I painted this portrait of the painter Angelika Kauffmann while she was winking as "the end" of the short comic about an episode of her life and now the painting it's drying.
It was a long "journey" for me because this is my first comic (even if it's really short) and I worked on the pages painting every single scene using my oil colors on paper. I collected 14 different scenes, each one it's an oil painting on A4 size, 200 gr paper and now I have to compose 8 pages using photoshop, but the most part of the work is done and I can re-start to think on something new! ^_^
It's really a nice sensation! I showed the first pages to the publishing house that will publish the book with many other short comics from other italian artists (maybe at the end of the year) and they liked my work, so I'm almost quiet about the final "ok" on it ^_^
I took some pics of the process too, just to show you a bit ow one of my painting on paper born ^_^
As usual, I started with a simple sketch and working on the background with some touches of ochre color:
A mix of white, naple yellow and red to add colors on the face and some touch of burnt umber color for the shadows:
Et voilà, the final result of this page!
I hope you like it!!
See ya soon
