You may recall my post about this charcoal drawing
Bogomil’s Avatar Revisited
that in the end got screwed up while I wanted to paint over it with glazes. Starting around middle of April I worked on it in my studio at the Kunstquartier Wien in Meidling.

After the mishap, I doggedly worked on it as a painting. I basically had to paint over the lost drawing design, and eventually succeeded - not what I had in mind before, but more painterly than originally planned. Detailed process images you find below.

The Steps

the final touch-ups were then done on May 21.

Details

The details of the final step on May 21. 2018 - I decided that this is it, and varnished it. Since it is all in acrylics, varnishing could be done right away once dried.

for the record, this is my avatar on deviantArt, based on a old drawing of which I don't have a clear picture, so it only works for a small size. I've been on deviantArt for over 11 years, and never changed my profile picture.
