Learning to Draw | State of Progress | Day #2

Welcome to the second installment of my drawing journal. Of course I'm still with the still lifes. The exercises that the teacher proposed to me was still based on learning to fit the objects on paper. Create the composition that I had in front of me proportionally and try to maintain the scales and distances of the objects, and keep the proportions of one with respect to the others.

In this class two exercises were proposed to me. Always increasing a bit the difficulty with respect to the previous one.

I enjoyed a lot the first exercise and I did not suffer much. Although I could not get the bottle on the right to stay straight. It always went crooked for some reason. I do not know if it was for trying to reproduce the perspective.

In the second exercise, the teacher added a degree of difficulty with the type of elements he proposed. The teapot was really complicated for me, especially because of the proportions. Both the mouthpiece and the handle were very difficult parts to reproduce, rather than the shapes, to maintain the size ratio between them.

The bottle was another element that although it may seem simple in a first impression, had some very subtle angles that took me a lot of work to reproduce. Although in fact I am not happy with the result, because it is very far from reality.

In spite of the difficulties I am enjoying this new artistic activity a lot and I want to continue drawing every day, or unless I continue learning.

Thank you for joining me on this wonderful path.
