Sahara in Watercolor

This is my entry for the Art Explosion Week 41: Theme Nature

This entry is dedicated to Sahara, a fat and hairy cat who has been a model for me on multiple occasions. In this occasion I paint it, I am inspired by a photograph that took some time. The look, the play of lights, shadows and colors that the image had was sufficient incentive to choose it.

All my life I have liked cats, their independence, character and personality are unique in each one. Sahara is the kind of fat and hairy cat that always goes to bed sleeping, she is so loose that she always walks on the floor, you will never see her mounted on a piece of furniture or on you, that is too laborious for her, she lets herself caress only when she wants but, it bites you or you leave your hand in the air, also likes to lie down to take sun, or hide in corners where you think that nobody sees it, precisely in one of these furtive moments was that I managed to take the photo that inspired me to draw it on this occasion.

Sahara

The truth is the first time I paint in watercolor my cat, I am more given to make portraits of people. But thanks to this contest I got to take the initiative to something that I have been doing for a long time.

Here I leave you a few images of the process and a video that you make with those images so that you can see more step by step dynamically.
