Sir Quixote of La Mancha is a handcut collage i created back at 2006. It was part of a group exchibition that took place at Thessaloniki, Greece and was organized by Galera magazine and the Spanish Embassy. Back then i was still using my "stained glass/collage" technique, cutting and pasting prints of gradient colours and trying to give the impression of a church vitraux. I took my main character from on of Gustave Doré's engravings of Don Quixote and as background i used another set of engravings of heroic tales. I made him colourful like his imagination and also had him sited on the heroic books he loved so much. He is a tragic figure but for me he will always be a strong symbol of romantic believers of any age or status.
