Another unexpectedly beautiful Sunday at the end of the fall.
Today I took a walk through downtown. In Bucharest, Romania. There were three reasons for this walk: the walk alone, to buy coffee from a certain store and my wife to go to a church.
The easiest way to get to downtown, to the University, is by subway.

At the exit of the metro we can see the Sutu Palace, now the museum of history of Bucharest.

Let's not forget the song today. It can not be without it. Something on Sundays!

Now let's go for a walk. The university square is a well-known place in Bucharest. It is the most famous meeting place. Also, here was the resistance of the revolutionaries in 1989 when Romania changed the political regime from communism to capitalism.
There are many churches in Bucharest. Orthodox Churches. One is even a Russian church, it will be easy to recognize thanks to the round tower. These churches are hundreds of years old and are historical monuments.

The streets are quite empty, which is very good for me. The cars, many in Bucharest, are more parked than in motion.

We are approaching of what is known as the "Old Center". The most visited place by tourists. Old city area, built hundreds of years ago and with the most important buildings, such as the National Bank, which is seen in the following pictures.

In the evening, these Old Town streets are full of people, especially in the summer but also in this beautiful autumn. Now when I walk it is too early for people to fill the streets.

Here are many restaurants, bars and terraces preferred by tourists because of good products and very low prices.

This is the street on which my wife's favorite church is. It is a short and well-known street, at its end it reaches Calea Victoriei, one of the most beautiful boulevards of the city and the old building of CEC, one of the most beautiful buildings. Also on this street is a famous restaurant named "The Beer Carriage".

Stavropoulos Monastery
The church is actually a small monastery. It's one of the most visited landmarks in the city and is very old, it was built in 1724. It's a very sought-after church because here are observed the old rituals and the Byzantine Orthodox tradition.

After spending almost half an hour in the church yard, we went looking for a Coffee Shop. We went through one of the narrowest streets in the city.

Another well-known street is the summer that is full of terraces and beer, and there are also many shops selling paintings and souvenirs.

Unfortunately, there have been many graffiti on the walls of these very old buildings ... and the result is not a good one.

A totally unexpected appearance made me forget the more ugly side of those streets. I met on the street a man dressed in a Romanian folk costume, a costume that no one else wears in the street. It seemed to me an appearance from other times and that made my walk to be special, not just beautiful, as we used to say: sublime!

We're on November 11. Most of the time this time was winter and snow. Now I see young girls on the street in short skirts.

But I understand that it will not last long, next week it will be very cold. Winter is coming!
