My Sunday morning in Bangkok started with the most beautiful clear blue sky i thought to myself it's going to be just the perfect day for that walk in the park. My friend had mention to me another park that he had been to not long ago and he knows i like walking different parks around Bangkok. The name of this park is "Suan Sri Nokhon Khuean Kan Park" that's the full name but it is known as "Bang Kachao Park" meaning in Thai pig's stomach island because that's how the walking trails are in this park winding around this massive park.
This is the Sunday morning i woke up to view from my balcony.

Breakfast and coffee had i made my way to the skytrain link jump onto the train to nearset station by the river and from the train station was a short taxi bike ride to the Bangkok Chaophraya river where i took a fast tail boat across to the other side of the river and in 2 minutes flat i was across the other side of the river and at the front entrance of Bang Kachao Park.

Once your at the main entrance it is your decision weather you want to walk or hire a bike the park is open from 6am till 8pm everyday and the park covers a area of 80 acres of lush green Botanical Gardens i decided to walk just so i could breath in all that fresh air and it's good exercise.

And all these beautiful views of the park was only the start already i was excited and impressed. The actual park was designed for the people of Bangkok for a place to come get away from the Bangkok’s city chaos enjoy the fresh air , relax , bike ride , exercise , walk or jog whatever you preferred.

The park was also designed as a place for ecosystem education on plant species and animals and it is also an oasis for the city people to come and experience nature. There are about 100 species of birds alone in this huge park included with bird watching towers.

After spending some time doing some bird watching and listening to them singing and chatting away to each other it was time to move on i think i had already been walking for over 2 hours and there was a lot of ground yet to cover. After walking away from the bird watching tower i came across yet another sign telling me where i was at this point and indeed there was still a lot to seen. Moving along following the pathways i was seeing these long walkways on the left and right of me so i decided to take the right as that would lead me back to the entrance point eventually. It was lush and stunning walking along these walkways i must say.

I could taste and smell that fresh air around me i just wanted to keep walking and walking and walking did i say walking.

Came across some locals coming over from the other side of the park i was standing by this small river running through the park with a sort of bridge on the river but not connecting and i was wondering how are they going to come across this river to were i was standing ....Ahhhhhh...the trick was pull the ropes connected to a rim or wheel and the platform bridge brings you across pretty cool guys they were of to do some fishing somewhere in the park.

Been such a beautiful sunny day i took the advantage of taking some crazy sun reflection shots into the sun.

The Palm trees were also a big factor in this huge area of park land apparently these palm trees are used for many things is a reason why they grow so many in this park it's the perfect swampy environment for them to grow here.

Unfortunately the day was drawing to a end i hadn't even covered half the park the sun was starting to fall and i had a long way to get home but i honestly didn't want to leave this beautiful garden of paradise. The locals were coming in to feed the fish by the lake and the kids coming to have a play in the park.

And the dogs coming in for there afternoon walk.

And i was still here taking photos were as i should have been out of here and on my way home but again i was getting draw in by the sunset to beautiful to miss just needed that last photo before i exit this paradise.

After sending 8 hours walking around it was truly an adventurous day i was really time to head home. On the motor taxi and of the pier and take a tail boat back across the river. Leaving this paradise this greenfield park that the government actually has declared or named it “The lungs of Bangkok.”

Back at the wharf now and the wharf cat gives me her goodbyes and i'm on a tailboat heading home was the best day ever and will see you again in the near future Bang Kachao Park.

On the tailboat with another lady passenger crossing the river.

Back on the skytrain and of home certainly a long day but one very well enjoyed Sunday.

Just to give you a idea how big this park really is here is a couple of aerial pictures which are not my photos but borrowed from Google.
