This Sunday i decided to go back and explore a bit more of the Khlong Saen Saep Canal in Bangkok , this canal i have walked along several times but always from different areas covering section by section as this canal runs through the heart of Bangkok city and you will always find some thing interesting on this canal.

This canal is actually 72 km long and passes through 21 districts and is connected to more than 100 smaller canals so you see why i keep going back to do sections at a time ,there is so much to see and so history along this canal.

This canal is also the main hub for commuters to travel to and from work on these fast river boats avoiding all those traffic jams in peak hours on the Bangkok roads.

I have been coming to Bangkok for the past 15 years but have now been living here for the past 9 years and walking along this canal 15 years ago was unbearable because of the smell and pollution in the canal but over the past 6 years it has become a trendy place to live the canal has been cleaned up and lots of high rise apartments and office blocks are been built along this canal making it a very expensive real estate today.

The one reason i love walking along this canal is there is so much going on that every time i end up back here i will see new skyscraper apartment or office blocks that have been completed with exceptional views and architectural designs.

With these tall skyscraper you will notice that the first few floors like maybe 4 to 6 floors are made for car parking the reason been is that the country of Thailand sits on a land of swamp so to build car parks underground is a impossibility as they would be flooded when it rains.

Apart from seeing all these awesome designs of skyscrapers there is also a endless amount of interesting graffiti along this canal. Like this staircase you notice the center of this staircase has a flat path down the center that is for motorbikes to get down along the canal or a thrill seeker in a wheelchair...lol :)

Some more different views and angles of these stunning apartment building.

After walking about 5 km along the canal it was time to head back to the Skytrain and get myself into a nice semi-warm bath my legs were a bit tired cause really it was about a 10 km walk today to and from the Skytrain stations but a very enjoyable day nice and sunny and beautiful blue sky. Here is some more shots i took i my walk back to the station.

I hope you all had a great Sunday like me thank you @ace108 for hosting #beautifulsunday and thank you @c0ff33a for hosting #SublimeSunday.
