Beautiful SublimeSunday in the Sea Garden

My beautiful and sublime Sunday is a continuation of my post Seasonchallenge Winter Sea.
That is why my first photo is that seascape.

image

Don't get fooled by the sun, it is cold outsde. Early this morning the temperature was minus 7 °C but felt like minus 12°C. I am not going out today. For that reason I will show my photos I took on Friday.

I have a long walk in the Sea Garden down to the beach and let's see what I have captured.

It may be January but there are some pansies here and there.

image

The seagulls are also everywhere and this bird was looking for food. They can eat everything. And to steal the food from your hands.

image

And posing for the camera with some editing.

image

And this is the entrance to the park.

image

I am going to show small part of the park. The Sea Garden is stretching alongside the cost and thanks to Google Maps you can see how big it is on the map - the green area.

image

The first thing that catches your eye is the sundial. Can you guess what time it was when I took the picture?

image

The sundial was placed in the park in 1977 and symbolizes flying swan. Well, I have never been good of guessing the symbols, but that what the idea of the author was. Let's see it from another angle.

image

If the sundial stands on your right side when you enter, then on your left side is another iconic building - The Sea Casino. It was built in 1926 and was not only casino but sort of cultural place till 1944. Later it was just a restaurant. Big renovation works were carried out and finished in 2017 and now the place consists of restaurants, winery, sky bar, art gallery, kids corner. The name remains casino, but it is no gambling place for a very long time.

image

Just in front is the beach alley with another old and reconstructed building.

image

Going down the stairs and look to the right.

image

And then to the left.

image

This long building was initiallly built in 1926 and it was called Sea Baths. There were baths with hot water and changing-rooms.
This was the time when Varna became resort area. That old picture shows how the building looked like in the beginning of the 20th century.

After the major reconstruction you can find numerous restaurants and cafes.
This Friday I am going there in one of them to celebrate the birthday of a very dear friend of mine.
From there you can reach the beach and it was quiet apart from the sound of the crushing waves.

image

And I am reaching the end of the post.
Have a beautiful and sublime day!
