Day of the sea and river fleet workers was celebrated today in St. Petersburg. The holiday began with the traditional Tugboat's Waltz. These small river vessels do not usually attract attention, they are modest workers. Tugboats are used to move ships and cargoes, come to the aid of ships in distress and perform a huge amount of not very visible, but necessary work. Some tugboats are equipped with high-pressure water pumps, which are used to extinguish fires.
The tugboat's dance started with simple circular movements. Three tugboats circled, converged and diverged, as if they were really dancing a waltz. And then the tugboats turned on the water cannons, and the fountains swung up to the low overhanging clouds.
