You may be surprised to know just who has the most cryptocurrency related patent filings and they are not a crypto centric company per se.

A report by bitcoinpatentreport.com lists the top 10 patent filings made by various companies from across the world and at the top of that list is Bank of America with a total of 45 patent filings followed by a company called EITC Holdings with 42, we have all heard of Bank of America but EITC Holdings is shrouded in mystery and is rumoured to be owned by the creator of Bitcoin Satoshi Nakamoto. Other note worthy companies included on this list are Mastercard, Alibaba and IBM.

One of the patents awarded to Bank of America is some sort of exchange which they describe as a "Cryptocurrency transformation system" where crypto can be exchanged for fiat, this seems like an indication of upcoming mainstream adoption of cryptocurrencies i just hope they do not corrupt the principles of crypto and end up with yet another monopoly.
