Adam White, Bakkt COO has recently announced through a blog-post that the company will begin user acceptance testing for its much anticipated Bitcoin Futures on July 22, 2019.
According to White this launch will usher in a new standard for accessing crypto markets, hoping that they will be able to establish the same type of global trust for cryptocurrency assets similar to what ICE, Bakkt’s mother company, was able to establish in setting the world’s price of crude oil.
They plan to do through the development of a secure infrastructure for trading digital currencies and a new approach to overcoming industry challenges in the areas of liquidity, regulations, unreliable trading platforms, price discovery and market manipulations.
The whole cryptocurrency community has been waiting for Bakkt release which has been delayed several times in the past due to some concerns by the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission over digital custody.
To quell concerns over custody Bakkt acquired Digital Asset Custody Company, a company that provides an institutional custodian service, including muti-blockchain support, professional financial reporting and digital asset insurance.
