Chapter 25: Brutal Revenge
Now that Vulay had left, Orcille and Denise were alone together again. Denise was frustrated with Orcille’s moods. Sometimes it seemed like they were getting along quite well. Other times, Orcille just did not want to communicate. Orcille hated to talk about anything personal. Once conversations drifted in that direction, he would disengage with Denise. Denise really wanted Orcille to open up more about himself. She also really wanted to know why he had lied about Victor. After a day of minimal conversation, Denise decided to go to sleep early. There was nothing else for her to do.
Just as she lay down to sleep, Arville approached the cell. ‘So quiet, are you missing the commander?’ he asked softly as he peered through the bars.
‘If you don’t need anything in particular, just leave me alone, okay,’ snapped Denise back at him.
Arville lifted up his arm. ‘You did this to my arm. I think it might leave a scar,’ said Arville in a pretentiously whiny voice.
‘Boo hoo,’ said Denise as she pretended to wipe tears from her eyes.
Arville unlocked the cell and entered. ‘I think I’m going to have to teach you some respect,’ said Arville in a sadistic tone.
‘None of this is necessary. Just leave me alone,’ said Denise in a firm voice.
‘I feel it is very necessary,’ said Arville, speaking very slowly. ‘This is the start of your rehabilitation. You need to learn to be obedient.’
Orcille was watching from his mattress but did not say anything.
‘I want you to apologise to me,’ said Arville.
‘I’m sorry,’ said Denise.
‘Say it like you really mean it,’ pestered Arville.
‘Why can’t you leave me alone?’ asked Denise in a frustrated tone. ‘You got me. I’m stuck here.’
‘I want to help you become a good girl,’ replied Arville in a creepy voice.
‘Leave me alone or I’ll scream,’ said Denise.
‘You can scream, but nobody’s coming to help you,’ said Arville confidently. ‘I can do whatever the hell I want with you, and I think I will.’
Orcille reached through the partition bars. He grabbed Arville from behind by his neck and yanked him into the bars. Arville struggled in an attempt to break free, but was unable to do so.
‘You seem to have a thing for neck pain,’ Orcille whispered into his ear.
Arville was gasping desperately while waving his arms frantically. Orcille bit into Arville’s right ear, ripping a small chunk off.
‘Looks like they can’t ‘ear you,’ whispered Orcille into what was left of his right ear.
Orcille released Arville. Arville dropped to his knees. He desperately crawled out of the cell. He kicked the cell door closed. He gasped for a few seconds as he lay on the floor.
‘If you try anything like that again, I will rip your head off your shoulders,’ yelled Orcille.
Arville regained his composure. He yelled profanities and threats at Orcille as he left the area.
Denise noticed the cell was still unlocked. She moved towards the door.
‘Don’t. You won’t get far, and you have nowhere to go,’ said Orcille firmly.
Denise sat back down on the mattress. She looked up at Orcille. ‘You saved me. Thank you,’ she said.
‘Not yet. We need to get out of this region,’ said Orcille as he looked back at her. ‘I sense things are going to get worse,’ he said in a concerned voice.
Orcille walked back over to his mattress and sat down. Denise gazed across at him, wishing to know his thoughts. Eventually, she lay down to go to sleep. Orcille did not feel like sleeping. He felt increasingly anxious.
Early the next day, Arville returned. This time, four enforcers accompanied him. He considered them his closest and most loyal colleagues. His right ear was no longer bleeding. He had covered it with a small bandage.
Denise stood up and moved to the back of the cell. She was feeling very scared but was desperately trying not to show it. Orcille also stood up. He moved to the front of the cell.
Arville looked at Orcille. ‘I’ve been very good to both of you, but it appears you do not appreciate my kindness,’ said Arville in a whiny tone. ‘Today, I’m going to do something different. I’m going to show you tough love.’
Arville unlocked Orcille’s cell door. Orcille moved back. Three enforcers entered Orcille’s cell with their batons out.
Denise shouted, ‘Leave him alone.’
Orcille just stared at them from his corner of the cell.
‘Get him,’ commanded Arville.
The enforcers attempted to strike Orcille. Orcille fought back. He slammed the enforcers into each other. He knocked one down hard. Another struck Orcille hard across the back. Orcille slammed him straight into the bars. The fourth enforcer entered the cell. Two enforcers were swinging their batons at Orcille. Their strikes were connecting heavily, but Orcille refused to fall down. He continued to fight back. He was starting to get the better of the two enforcers.
Finally, Arville entered the cell. He was holding a stun gun. He stunned Orcille in the neck. Orcille fell to the ground. He repeatedly stunned Orcille until he was motionless on the ground.
Denise ran into Orcille’s cell. She began hitting Arville. He knocked her to the ground. She tried to attack Arville again. One of the other enforcers grabbed her.
‘Do you want to see something shocking?’ Arville shouted at Denise.
He ripped off Orcille’s shirt, revealing his badly scarred body. He continued ripping Orcille’s clothes off until he was lying naked on the floor.
‘Look at this freak. Look at this freak,’ Arville screamed at Denise.
The enforcer holding her forced her to look down at Orcille. Denise stopped struggling. She looked down at Orcille in silence.
Arville and two of the other enforcers started laughing. Arville walked over to Orcille’s head. ‘You’re still with us,’ he said to Orcille.
Orcille was still moving a little, and foam was oozing from his mouth.
‘Any of you want to have a go on him? This is a truly once-in-a-lifetime experience,’ he called out to the others. The other enforcers gestured negatively back at Arville. ‘I’m up for anything,’ he called out to them.
Arville pulled his trousers down. He climbed on top of Orcille and proceeded to rape him aggressively.
The enforcer, holding onto Denise, took her back to her cell. The other three enforcers left. They could not stomach Arville’s actions. As awful as these enforcers were, they knew Arville had done something unimaginably terrible.
When Arville was finished, he placed his hand under Orcille’s chin. He whispered in Orcille’s ear, ‘I take what I want whenever I want. You will remember this day.’ He got to his feet. He looked over to Denise. She was lying on the ground in her cell.
‘Today, I showed you a monster,’ he said, smiling at her as he pulled up his trousers. He walked out of the cell. He did not even bother to close the cell door.
Orcille was lying motionless, face down, on the ground. Denise raised her head slightly to see Arville walk away.
‘You did,’ she replied softly as tears ran down her face.
About twenty minutes later, the Head Enforcer arrived. An enforcer ran up to him. ‘There was an incident in the prisoner holding area,’ he said.
‘What kind of incident?’ asked the Head Enforcer.
‘Best you look for yourself,’ replied the enforcer.
The Head Enforcer approached the cell. The door was still open. Orcille was still lying on the ground.
‘It’s still alive,’ said one of the enforcers.
‘Transfer him to the back of one of the vehicles,’ commanded the Head Enforcer. ‘I’m taking him to the medical centre.’
Two enforcers moved Orcille to the back of a vehicle. They covered him with a blanket.
The Head Enforcer pulled out his phone. ‘Meet me at the back of the medical centre in ten minutes,’ he said into the phone.
The Head Enforcer got into the vehicle alone. He drove to the back of the medical centre. A Carvaress scientist was waiting at the entrance. The Head Enforcer got out of the vehicle to meet him. He then opened the back of the enforcer vehicle. The scientist pulled back the blanket covering Orcille. He took a close look at him. He turned back to the Head Enforcer.
’We’ll take it from here,’ he said as he frowned.
Two medical attendants emerged from the medical centre. They transferred Orcille to a mobile stretcher and wheeled him inside. The scientist followed them.
