This weekend i watched one of the best boxing events i have ever seen, hosted by Matchroom boxing with promoter Eddie "Fast Car" Hearn and headlined by Dillian Whyte vs Joseph Parker though the card was outstanding from top to bottom.
This was a really exciting bout and one i had been looking forward to since it was announced about 7 weeks ago, Dillian Whyte emerged victories and at times man handled Parker and scored 2 knock downs though the first one was debatable as there was a headbutt involved the second one however was caused by a clean left hook and is the only time Parker has been dropped, as for what's next for the two boxers i would think Dillian Whyte will be fighting for a world title in his next fight perhaps against Manuel Charr, as for Parker maybe a win over the likes of Luiz Ortiz would put him back in the mix.
This one turned out to be quite the cinderella story with Dereck Chisora seemingly turning back the hands of time with a return to form as he scores a huge KO win over Carlos Takam, Del Boy took a lot of shots in this bout and many were of the opinion (including myself) that the towel would be thrown in to the ring by the Chisora corner so as to stop the punishment Dereck was receiving, though one big overhand right by Chisora completely changed the pace of the fight and Takam found himself on the canvas though he did manage to beat the 10 count but Dereck smelt blood and landed another huge overhand right to separate Takam from his consciousness.
Other than the main and co-main event there were many other notable wins including Katie Taylor who is on the way to cementing herself as the best female boxer ever, Conor Benn in a rematch had to overcome a genius strategy from his opponent when he surprisingly fought in a southpaw stance, Joshua Buatsi had a good win and is being touted as a future world champion.
