Last night, @ezzy was still suffered from his cold that started a couple of days ago. Hence I decided to make him some delicious Chinese Wonton to cheer him up as he loves it so much!
Wonton is essentially a small dumpling with a balled-up meat filling. You can eat it either boiled in soup or deep fried. For the filling, I use pork mince meat mixed in with some chopped veggies. A mixture of pork and prawn filling is also a very popular choice! I did not have time to make my own pastry wraps so instead bought a packet from a from nearby Asian grocery store.
The process of creating this wonton delicacy is a lot of fun as you can fold the dumpling into so many different shapes. My favourite being yuan bao, which resembles the ancient Chinese coin. A symbol of good luck, of course, haha!
@ezzy prefers deep-fried wonton with some light soy sauce while I usually opt for the wonton soup together with some vegetables. Both were seriously tasty and bursting with flavour! I would recommend everyone to try it at home as wonton is so easy to make but the rewarding end result is unbelievable!
Good Luck and enjoy!*
