Last Saturday, I had a great afternoon out with @ezzy by taking a trip down to the Royal Air Force (RAF) Museum.
The RAF museum is situated in Colindale, North West London. Upon arrival, there was plenty of parking just outside the main entrance. Although it’s not free but still priced quite reasonably, at about £5 for 4 hours. Which provides for ample time to see everything.
Otherwise the museum itself is completely free to get in, whilst giving attendees the option to donate or contribute whatever you can to keep the establishment running.
The aircrafts on display were arranged within 6 different hangers with 3 of them combined into one giant hall. The main entrance connects to Hanger 1 which is dedicated to focusing upon people who make up the RAF through the past 100 years right the way through to present day. They have lots of planes varying from all shapes and sizes either on the ground or hanging from the high ceiling. There was a lot of technical information and historical facts, making for a truly mind-blowing experience.
The museum is also quite interactive which proved to be popular amongst the children there. They have mini airplane replicas for them to sit in as well as video games providing realistic flight experiences.
There is also a section entitled "RAF – First to the Future” where you can explore the cutting edge technology and innovations that help keep the RAF ahead of the game in the air and space sectors. Awesome stuff!
(To be continued)
