Vintage of the Day - Battlestar Galactica Colorforms & TV Show Talk

BS colorforms (1).jpg

I love me some Colorforms. Especially ones still on the original cards with all the die cut pieces still in place. Battlestar Galactica brings back memories of post-Star Wars excitement.

It's been a long time. Remembering back, I think it was on ABC on Friday's. It was a 1/2 hour comedy. It wasn't, it was a drama with scary Cylons, Commander Adama, Starbuck and more. Basically, the Cylons blow up where they all live and now they live on spaceships trying to avoid and outrun the Cylons. Lorne Greene commands them.

Cylons scared me in 1979 and they scared me In the 2000's. Sci-Fi Channel put out a Battlestar Galactica series. I got into it. There was a Starbuck character, Adama, Cylons, etc. It was serious and really well done. The Cylons from both versions are scary.

The 2000's version is the clear scary creepy winner. When you watch the newer version, the noise it makes when it walks makes me shudder. The red eye that made a shooshing weird noise as it went back and forth, signaling it wanted to kill something;.

I have vague memories of these two. So this is the old version's Baltar, who is kind of a fuck up in the new version. Whatever that genie thing controls the Cylons maybe? Nightmare inducing from 1979.

WTF Battlestar.jpg

In the 2000's, the Sci-Fi Channel put out a Battlestar Galactica series. I got into it. There was a Starbuck character, Adama, Cylons, etc. It was serious and really well done. Good story. It gets dreary at the end and needs some bits of hope but worth watching for sure.

So the story is --

Colorforms are badass
The old version of Battlestar Gallactica was cheesy
The new version is a well done story
Cylons are scary
