a peek inside Vancouver's cannactivism scene

As activists, @MediKatie and I are very lucky to know some amazing people, see some amazing things, and be part of amazing actions. Vancouver is the undisputed capital of cannabis activism in Canada, and perhaps the world. We're blessed to be able to be part of that.

The cause

Jerry Martin ("the King of Compassion"), a dispensary owner from Saskatchewan, is challenging the government of Canada on behalf of cannabis patients and their suppliers. The case aims to set legal precedent.

March 10th 2018 at Karuna Dispensary & Lounge, Vancouver.... An auction of various extremely illegal and outstanding cannabis products were up for grabs.

Karuna is a classy upscale joint in a nice part of town. MediKatie and I have been patients there since they opened in 2015. We chose her name there! We started projects there. It's got a lot of memories, so it was great to be back and see they're still fighting the good fight!

Just about every except the Emerys showed up. The air was thick with anticipation, pot smoke, and dabs.

Some really valuable and unique items were auctioned off, to raise money for this "charter challenge" in the Supreme Court. Everybody had a blast!

There will be more events like this one soon, as it's going to take a lot of money to fight the Canadian government in court, but this is a fight worth having!

History in the making.

I also took some video and audio, which I'll share here tomorrow.
Can you see this stuff anywhere else?

Thank you Steemit for not censoring this important activism, as FB and other sites have for years!!
And thank you to our supporters.
