Tabarnak! The pot leaf is prohibited in Québec!

Québec's new cannabis law will prohibit retailers from selling products (such as Tshits, ashtrays, posters, lighters) decorated with a cannabis leaf.

Under this new legislation, "logos, designs and images cannot be used on cannabis-related objects unless they are government approved."

Quebec's Health Ministry said the have 31 "inspectors" to enforce these regulations against retailers, and fines of $5,00-$62,500 can be issued, and double for repeat offences.

Mylany David, a Montreal-based commercial and real estate lawyer explains that "you cannot use your branding or your name into a public event or a stadium or building or to be associated with any sort of activity in the public life."

The legislation is "meant to prevent the normalization of cannabis use", but David expects it to go to Court because it could be interpreted as general prohibition of the cannabis leaf, even from non-cannabis-related objects, and that is "extreme prohibition".

Hostie de crisse de câlice de tabarnak! C'est câlicement stupide, tabarnaquement ridicule, mauditement fasciste, crissement horrible.
