Picking a seat right at the middle section is a big no no for those who wanted to snap a photo in flight. The wing would be blocking the view. This is a perfect example of taking a photo right on top of the middle section of the plane.
选择窗口位置,而且是机翼的窗口位对于想要拍空中景象的人来说是禁忌。因为机翼会遮挡了外景。以上图片就是一个很好的例子,被机翼遮挡了美好的地平线。

At 40,000ft altitude, you can see from 1 side of the earth are still in blue, where the other part in yellow where sun already shining at the atmosphere. Still, the wing had taken some space at the lower part of the camera. You can't avoid this or the top part of the photograph would be shooting at the window frame, and you'll be missing the skyline view.
在四万尺高空中,可以看到地球上空的一边还是昏暗的蓝色天空,而另外一边确实金黄色的天空。不过,由于窗口和机翼的大小比例太大,所以不管哪一个角度拍,机翼总是霸了一角。就算你往上拍,被你闪过了机翼,但是却排到了窗口边,而且拍不到地平线就没意义了。
Worst part of picking a seat at the wing, you'll get to see the wing shaking. My nightmare is this one seeing a long crack mark being patched previously. Was wondering will it crack again during the flight! OMG!
最可怕的就是在机翼旁的窗子可以看完整个机翼的状况。飞机起飞时机翼在抖动,又或者遇到气流时看着机翼晃动,而最恐怖是看到以上这种补丁和裂痕。真担心飞机半空中那个补丁脱落怎办!
Off topic a little, usually aircraft windows are reinforced with polyurethane and different type of acrylic transparent material. Multiple layer of transparent material being enforced on the window frame to block the coldness of high altitude, at the same time they are responsible to keep the pressurized cabin from leaking air. There's very little room for error at high altitude as there's little oxygen at the outside of the plane. Note that the window has been coated with anti freeze coating. Despite that, you can still see the sides forming ice crystal surrounding the frame.
离题一下顺便说说飞机的窗子都是由好几层不同质地的透明朔胶组成。而里层和外层都有经过防结冰处理。这样的组合就可以将机舱密封,进而加压好让机舱内的乘客可以呼吸。因为高空中的氧气极少而且非常寒冷,零下40度。高空飞行的航空班机不容有误,不然几百条人命都不够死。虽然窗子经过防结冰处理,但是开始看到内层玻璃的框接了一层薄薄的冰。
Back to topic, why would I pick a window seat on the wing? Statistically, this is a higher risk seating on an aircraft. I've been a fan of Mayday/air crash investigation. Despite I'm not a regular traveller, but I have always had this images in my mind where and aircraft rapidly decent and or people jumping off the exits and seek survival on mid ocean(I can't swim for the record).
- Seats by/on the wing usually has less vibration. The entire aircraft has the strongest structure right at the wing section to host fuel and mechanical machines.
*Engine noise are usually emitted at the back of the engine, and suction at the front part of the engine induction would produce whining noise as well. Whereas right at the middle of the wing, the wing itself would blocked the engine sound. It's not as silent as the front part of the aircraft, but it's bearable. - In the event of landing on the water, pilot will dump fuel to prevent fire. The wing become natural form of floating device.
- Window seat usually has more head room space. I can stuff my head beside the window frame and start sleeping. If you remember there's an incident where passenger got sucked out from the blew out window, frankly if that happen to me, I'd believe it's my destination. Out of so many window, and destiny picked that window to blow. I could have chocked by baby food on some other occasion.
The journey was nicely enjoyed despite its economy flight. For the six hours of journey, I don't feel much vibration even many occasions the captain has announced turbulence.
言归正传,为什么会选择坐机翼旁呢?对于航空失事的纪录片我是一点都不陌生的,据理机翼是收藏燃料的地方,第一个被炸死的一定是我。那种飞机被逼降落在水上,乘客紧急跳出飞机外的景象一直在我脑海里不停的重播。这里我跟大家分享选择机翼窗边位置的心得。
- 飞机中央的位置比较稳定而且少抖动。机翼是收藏燃料的地方,所以制造飞机时,这一段构造是最强的。
- 引擎的声响固然比机鼻来的大。但是真正的操音是引擎后的喷射部位,还有前方的吸气部位。如果是机翼中央的位置,音量会被机翼本身遮掩了听不到。
- 如果是紧急降落在水上,飞机师会先抛弃燃料以防止火患。空置的机翼自然变成浮萍会浮在水上。
- 窗口位比较宽松,而且头可以塞进窗框睡大觉。早些时候有一位受害者因为窗口破裂,上半身被吸出机舱死了。老实说,飞机失事造成的死亡率远比其他交通工具来得低。一架飞机那么多窗子,如果真的要选我的窗子破裂让我死,我认命了。我想不管我是不是坐窗边,就算吃婴儿食品都有可能会被梗死。这个叫命运。
虽然是廉价航班,但是整个旅程我都很满意。六个小时的飞行期间,不管是起飞、降落、甚至好几段遇上气流,我选择的机翼位置都很少抖动。
