I am a tree.
I am a pine.
I, tall and straight, symbolize
Persistence, strength, and virtue.
I wave my green boughs
As I keep vigil over the silent earth,
The noisy earth, the dusty earth.
I am reaching up for the sun;
With all around me, I am One.
