This week went by pretty fast and yet when I think back to working on this illustration, it feels like it took forever. In recent events, I started teaching a high school summer course about making comic books. Which is basically me stealing all of the lessons I was taught in college and regurgitating it to my students. It's been a really good experience so far and they are old enough to keep up with my sarcasm and that's honestly all I could ask for.
But anyways, in between teaching and juggling my freelance projects I've been slowly completing this spread which is perhaps why it felt like it took me so long to complete. I'm pretty satisfied with how it came out. I don't normally take on the task of illustrating spreads since they usually require an obscene amount of detail and this is making me rethink the other spreads I have planned for the future. If you want to read more about the making of this illustration, you can check out my previous post here.
But for a quick recap, here is where I last left you with this illustration:
The Final Look
I'm putting this detailed mess to rest for now and am ready to move on to the next pages! I might do what I normally do and pencil the rest of them instead of taking one page from start to finish. We'll see. Anyways, as always...
