Hey there Steemians!
Today I wanted to share with you folks a little about my family, since this is a community website, and we are building on a mutual aid system, I figured you folks may like to know a little bit about me.
My mother was a jeweler, she made jewelry for most of my life, although she went to university to be a social worker her main form of income was making jewelry which she sold at hand crafting markets in Austin Texas, Eugene Oregon and at fine art festivals across the country.
My sister, my brother, my baby's mama along with countless friends learned to make jewelry from my mother, she would teach anyone who wanted to learn her craft, at no charge.
My mother was an amazing person in many ways.
At one point my favorite uncle, who I share a birthday with, made a recording of his grandfather's life story, this was my mother's grandfather, in this recording he talked about how his father had been a jeweler for the Russian czar, and how the jewelry and gemstones were the assets which funded their escape from holocaust in the build up to the first world war.
My little brother still carries on the family business making his entire livelihood a silver and goldsmith, my little sister is largely done with her time as a jeweler, and I am just beginning to get back into being a silversmith after having turned away from jewelry by and large for more than ten years.
At the moment I am only doing simple work without a workshop, making earrings from silver wire and beads, using tools I can easily carry in my pack.
I sell my jewelry primarily through Facebook where I have been posting pictures of the earrings I am making.
I have been charging $15 american dollars per pair, and paying shipping myself.
I am willing to accept SBD, at current value 4 SBD seems fair.
