RE: Name YOUR decentralized social network?

(I had to wait a while to reply seeing as I got a message from Steemit saying I had "run out of resource credits" and was urged to buy more Steem Power or wait to "recharge")

EDIT
First of all, I'm pleased you've abandoned "one name fits all".

What do you think of @johnnyflynn’s Yoda suggestion?

Yeah, it's a good name that I'm sure many would be attracted to, but I tried to steer clear up to now of suggesting anything that might risk getting the project sued.

How about adding an extra "e" to Bleep as Bleeep in order to get around the Warp Records ownership?

Mind you, it could also imply censorship, as in bleeping out swearing etc.

I wonder if most Millennials have the same experience as I do with major Internet sites. For example, I seem to be nearly banned from Youtube. Every time I comment there, my comments will not be visible to others. Appears that Google has figured out by tracking my search history and my other patterns, that I am not a progressive
and that I express strong views that may conflict with Google’s politics. For me that utterly unacceptable.

Yes, I agree it is totally unacceptable. A replacement can't come soon enough! I'm wonering if it is chiefly your comments that are getting you "nearly banned", seeing as my Youtube search history is mainly non-progressive but I don't express "strong views" there (mostly an observer), and search material from across the political spectrum + lots of innocuous subjects including music etc.

But Millennials appear to be unfazed?

For the most part, that is my impression too. Just doesn't seem to be an issue. Some of it seems to be the "do anything you have to do to keep us safe" mindset. Not many woke yet, but I think there is a growing appetite for change amongst elements of that group.

Essentially the antithesis of censorship is freedom-of-information (FOI).

Absolutely.

Keeper is superior to Stor and Anarchive

Agreed.

So the Keeper name implies a blockchain. And a blockchain is open data.

I think a keeper of data history is a likely connotation users may have. That could be negative for some people though. In fact, that is a frank feature (disadvantage?) of blockchains — they never forget.

But if you want to restrict access you can encrypt and only allow some people to decrypt.

A useful feature that would have broad appeal I reckon.

I did look at the complete chart on Busy.com of the new name suggestions alongside their individual attributes.

Uncommons is has more meaning and is more serious than Knol, Knugget and Ourpedia.

Agreed, I really like Uncommons, and think it fits the bill perfectly.

IIt’s not entirely clear to me that Oodles is superior to the prior ideas for specific media types: Immortal, Recorded, Trove, Jambox and Funkybit. Immortal may be better for games. Recorded, Jambox or Funkybit may be better for music. Oodles is more generic which is probably better so we don’t need to proliferate names for each media type. A disadvantage with Trove is there’s already a site Trovit that was reasonably well known. Oodlesseems to be more memorable (just remember noodles). The double Oo captures the eye.

Yeah, Oodles is another I like. A playful suggestion of a cornucopia! I agree that it might be preferable for it to be applied generically rather than lots of different names for each media type.

Hyperdata seems a much better fit in its specific slot.

Boonus is far superior (brandable, one syllable, memorable, interesting) to the prior idea Cha-ching.

onboarding face of project, signup and DAPPs portal

Mostly agreed, yes. My immediate take was that Boonus sounds like "Bonus" and I noted too "boon", as in suggesting various benefits etc. Actually it's growing on me after initial reservations.

So, together with Cred as the major token; Blips as the minor token, everthing seems a much better fit.

Altogether a bit of a breakthrough I think, yeah?
