
The second largest bank in America, Bank of America, has recently filed for a patent for a settlement system with one of the sections citing refunded Ripple settlement.
The new system is described as a system that would enable real-time settlement through the use of a decentralized distributed ledger technology (DLT).
The project will leverage DLT and is primarily aimed to cater to institutional accounts as an interbank communications tools.
XRP is one of the few cryptocurrency project that has landed several institutional financial partnership in the past purportedly being able to partner with more than 200 finance companies worldwide due to its more pragmatic approach when dealing with traditional finance.
