The interest on Bitcoin has surge after social media giant Facebook revealed that they are releasing their own cryptocurrency and distributed ledger technology, Libra.
This was shown on the sudden surge on Libra search led to an even bigger spike for Bitcoin searches in USA and around the globe.
According to a online report the searches of Libra jumped up from 19/100 to 34/100 as the social media giant releases its whitepaper.
While some pundits are claiming that the release of Libra could spell disaster for Bitcoin some argue that that the project might be the catalyst the will propel mass adaption for the emerging asset class.
Only time will tell if this could be true but one thing is certain, Libra is certainly helping draw interest on digital assets and on Bitcoin in particular.
