The total computing power of Bitcoin miners securing BTCs blockchain has reached another milestone.
BTC.com, a mining service operator reveals that bitcoin mining hash rate over the last two weeks reaches 71.32 quintillion hashes per second up from the previous month which saw 64.49 quintillion hashes which is up around 10.78% jump since last month.
If the computing power came from newly purchased ASIC machines and each machine cost around $2,000 each this would mean $200 million in revenue was generated by major mining equipment manufacturers.
It must be noted though that this is not the first time its computing power has reached this level but today marks the first time that the two-week average remains above 70EH/s.
