The National Business Registry (MBR) according to the Junior Minister of Financial Services, Digital Economy and Innovation of Malta Silvio Schembri announced that will be utilizing blockchain technology to increase transparency as well as operational efficiency.
Schembri made this remarks during the inauguration of the new facilities of MBR which was attended by Prime Minister Dr. Joseph Muscat.
The pronouncement was confirmed by the official account of the Italian-Maltese Chamber of Commerce which revealed that indeed it would be the first Maltese agency to run on blockchain and other emerging technologies.
The initiative aims to increase the agencies operational efficiency and lessen unnecessary bureaucratic procedure.
