
the Central Bank of Rwanda is studying the possibility of it developing and issuing its own digital cryptocurrency.
In fact, the National Bank of Rwanda (NBR) is looking at the research of other central banks about digital currencies such as those released by the Royal Bank of Canada, De Nederlandsche Bank and the Monetary Authority of Singapore.
According to Peace Masozera Uwase, Financial stability director-general, there are still on how one can convert the entire currency into digital form, how to distribute them and how fast you can process those transactions.
The director said that the only way his country will join in this digital evolution is when the technology and his country’s infrastructure is ready for the issuance and monitoring of digital assets.
