The parent firm of Budweiser, Anheuser-Busch InBev have invested in a supply chain blockchain BanQu.
This comes at a time when blockchain market is still in its infancy stages showing supreme confidence in the nascent industry which is looking to minimize the bridge of logistics between the producer and the end consumer.
According to sources that is familiar with the matter Anheuser-Busch InBev has expanded its Series-A investment which seeks to address supply chains that are typically plagued with several intermediaries who are all vying to fill their pockets by charging exorbitant commission.
By cutting out the middle man the blockchain startup hopes to help the vast majority of farmers or producers who often do not have access to banking services which could help them reach brands, organizations and government in a cost effective manner.
BanQu wants to do away with centralized forms of supply chains by connecting members at the earliest stage of production directly with retail consumers.
