Cypherpunks Taiwan Erects Bitcoin Satellite Receiver

Cypherpunks Taiwan has erected a Bitcoin satellite receivers making it the only the second country do so in Asia after Japan who made one last year.

These satellite receivers utilize the Blockstream satellite project which enables nodes operations to tap into the bitcoin network without the use of internet connection.

Interestingly, such infrastructure is highly restricted in China which still laid claims to Taiwan as part of its territory.

Setting up the Bitcoin Satellite receiver is not that difficult and expensive, in fact it only cost around $400 dollars and all the software needed are downloadable from Blockstream’s website.

Those who have a knack for experimenting with new technologies can experiment with this project and discover creative ways how to leverage this emerging technology.
