One of the leading cryptocurrencies in the world, Dash has recently upgraded its network to make it 51% attack resistant and will no longer be reliant on miners to confirm transactions.

The upgrade will create 250 elected masternodes that will work to monitor and verify transactions.

This marks one of the most important updates on Dash network’s five year history.

According to Dash Core Group, the company behind Dash, Dash Core v0.14.0 aims to solve the nightmare of 51 percent attacks while also providing near-instant transaction times.

Ryan Taylor, CEO of Dash Core Group, in addition to bolstering the network’s security via ChainLocks which essentially eliminate the threat of a 51% attacks the implementation of Living Masternode Quorums (LLMQs) will significantly speed up the confirmation process.
