
iExec, the decentralized cloud computing project has announced a partnership with one of the largest utility companies in the world.
iExec and EDF worked together to build GPUSPH an application that is build on top of Ethereum blockchain and plains to side step scalability issues by ensuring that any heavy computing is done off-chain.
Gilles Deleuze, Blockchain Engineer at EDF states that the development of distributed computing is a credible scenario of the future, and blockchain may be a nice lever in this scenario.
It was later revealed that it is one of the first of many proposed experiments that the two companies will be working on and might be a prelude to a long and lasting working relationship between the firms.
