
The Malayasian government has started approving cryptocurrency exchanges in the country after it started regulating the space earlier this year.
There are around 3 first registrants who have been approved and registered as Recognized Market Operators (RMOs) to establish and operate digital asset exchanges (DAX) in the country.
According to the Securitires Commission Malaysia (SC) anyone that is interested in operating a crypto exchange in the country should register an RMO with the commission first.
The three registered DAX operators are Luno Malaysia Snd Bhd, Sinegy Technologies (M) Sdn Bhd, Tokenize Technology (M) Sdn Bhd.
The newly approved DAX will have nine months to fully comply with all regulatory requirements.
It was also reported that SC has also ordered 19 crypto exchanges to cease operations in the country and returns funds an assets to investors.
