NBA Taking A Shot On Blockchain Technology

The National Basketball Players Association (NBPA) and the NBA is partnering with Dapper Labs to launch a blockchain-based marketplace for NBA highlights in a form of in-game collectibles.

With the said partnership fans can collect, trade and own some of the greatest moments in NBA’s history made possible through the use of blockchain technology which can be used for on-chain games and tournaments.

According to Dapper labs user can acquire players and create rosters with an extra hook: buying particular moves from the previous season.

NBA Top Shot comes two years after the launch of the number one blockchain-based game cryptokitties.

It would be interesting to know if Dapper labs can recreate the same amount of success it had with CryptoKitties with the NBA audience and perhaps become one of the proponents to make crypto and blockchain going mainstream.
