It has been reported by a local news agency in Iran that the Iranian Economic Commission has finalized pricing scheme for cryptocurrency miners.
Homayoon Ha’eri, the Energy Minister, states that while the scheme has been finalized it has to go through the government’s approving body: the Cabinet of Iran which is a governmental body chosen by the president.
The minister was not able to elaborate on the details of the new pricing scheme but was able to share that the prices suggested takes into account many market factors such as fuel prices in the Persian Gulf.
Initially the head of Iran Electrical Industry Syndicate, Ali Bakhshi , proposed a price of $0.07 per kilowatt for cryptocurrency miners, notably higher of the national average of $0.05 per kilowatt due to the government subsidy.
