The Financial Conduct Authority (FCS), the primary financial regulator in Britain, has recently announced that still will not regulate Bitcoin (BTC) according to their recent guidance on crypto assets.
FCA released its the PS10/22: Guidance on Cryptoassets which is the finalized policy statement regarding cryptocurrencies on July 31.
In the document FCA considered major cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin and Ether (ETH) as exchanges tokens a type of digital assets that are usually decentralized and primarily used as a means of exchange.
However, despite its stance on the dominant cryptocurrencies it is considering regulations of security tokens and e-money which have specific features, with the former providing rights and obligations and the latter as utility tokens which may function as e-money is some circumstances.
