The 10th largest bank in Poland made headlines in cryptocurrency news outlets around the world for its launched of document verification system based on the Ethereum network.
Using this new platform customers are able to seamlessly check on the authentication and integrity of official documents.
According to a source that is familiar with the initiative, Alior Bank announced the new service allowing customers of the bank to easily use distributed ledger technology (DLT) to verify the authenticity of sensitive documents they receive.
With this development Alior Bank become one of the very first financial institution to adopt a public distributed ledger as most of other banks prefers to develop their own permissioned blockchain to power their projects.
Blockchain strategy lead at ALior Bank, Tomasz Sienicki, states that they want to become a game changer in the industry offering innovative solutions that could easily be used by all interested entitites.
He adds that his organization is showing that it is possible to use public Blockchains even if some people think it is impossible.
