
In an effort to quell concerns of regulators on Facebook’s GlobalCoin initiative, Facebook is looking to hand over the management of Project Libra to an independent foundation.
It has also been reported that interested node operators for the upcoming cryptocurrency from Facebook will have to shell out a whopping $10 million to get a slot.
Anonymous sources that are familiar with the project reveals that Facebook expects to launch the GlobalCoin Stablecoin later this month and the firm is now putting the finishing touches to the ambitious project.
In contrast Bitcoin which has thousands of nodes spread across the world the new cryptocurrency from Facebook will have around 100 node validators with each needing to pay around $10 million to get a set on its ecosystem.
This have disappointed some members in the cryptocurrency space stating that one of the primary reasons for cryptocurrencies to exist to eliminate barriers and by imposing such a high requirements eliminates the participation of smaller players in the space.
