The CEO of Ripple, Brad Garlinghouse, praised Libra for a record-breaking client sign up week over at this startup.
He states that thanks to Libra banks not thinks that when Libra becomes a competitor and a real threat to their businesses banks and other financial institutions will realize that they can’t depend upon a technology like Swift to compete in the marketplace.
The said solution from Ripple does not need a pre-funded local currency account as it happens with SWIFT instead it just converts fiat to XRP token on an exchange then the receiving party will just have to do the reverse of that conversion done automatically within seconds.
More than ever the looming entry of Libra encourages financial institution to look into new technology such as blockchain that will help them compete with Facebook’s financial product.
